When to surf the Cadiz's Coast:
For experienced surfers: the most consistent time is from October to April, while January and February are the months with the most days when waves can be found.
For intermediate surfers, from September to June there are good conditions
For beginners: throughout the year there are waves suitable for learning to surf
Weather and surfing equipment
What sets us apart from other parts of the peninsula is the mild weather we have for most of the year. In December, January and February a 4/3 wetsuit is sufficient, while in October, November, March, April and May a 3/2 is warm enough. In June, July, August and September you can surf in a swimsuit or surf shorts.
Surfboards and waves
In summer, except on a few isolated days, the waves are small and not very powerful, so you could use a longboard or a board with volume. The rest of the year you can find waves of more than two meters on the best days, but you will usually be fine if you bring a board you feel comfortable with in waves of half a meter to a meter and a half. Also, contrary to what many people think, if you're looking for powerful, hollow waves you can find them in Cadiz.
Locals and overcrowding
Surfing in Cadiz has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years. Good days are usually quite full and obviously more festive when it is sunny, but when it gets really serious, many people leave.
In many cases, respect for the basic rules of surfing is absent. However, if you are someone who gets up early and goes in search of less crowded spots, you will definitely find your reward.
There are some critical spots where you can have serious problems if you get into them, but in the vast majority of cases, as in most of the world, if you use common sense, you can surf without complications.
